ZnO-Cu2O Composites for Photocatalytical Removal of Methylene Blue from Aqueous Solution under Visible Light

ZnO-Cu2O composites were prepared by precipitation technique followed calcination. The composite was characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersion X-ray (EDX), Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR) and diffraction (XRD). Band gap of the determined UV-visible reflectance measurement. absorption range shifted to visible region due doping Cu2O. SEM image represented that nanoparticle smaller in size compared pure ZnO. EDX spectral analysis showed no elements other than Zn, Cu O present sample. XRD made hexagonal ZnO cubic photocatalytic activity studied degrading MB under different experimental conditions. molar ratios composites, amount composite, initial concentration dyes varied optimize conditions for degradation. result with those commercial It found is a better photocatalyst light.
